中美百万人口城市[2004]

US has different statistic standard in urban population counting. Only 9 cities are listed as one-million-population city

However, big cities usually covers more than one county, but the sub urban area is not counted in the city’s population. Whilst in China, lots sub urban agriculural population is also counted in.

In 2000, 49 cities in USA have more than 1 million population<br>

In 1999, China has 37 one-million-population cities, In 2001 this number is 41

泰坦尼克上的存活率

多年前看电影《泰坦尼克号》时，有一个镜头是小两口跑过底舱，很多工人在里面烧锅炉，操作机器。我当时就想，这些工人最后有几个人能活下来？

搜了一下资料，还真有详细的分仓存活率统计：

1等舱存活率：62％

2等舱存活率：41％

3等舱存活率：25％

船员存活率：24％ （里面底舱工人有多少就不知道了）

特别是孩子，一等、二等舱30个孩子只死了一个，存活率97%。三等舱79个孩子就只有34%了。一等舱的女人，存活率是97%，三等舱就只有46%。

底舱的锅炉工人当场是没有机会体现其高尚的——死后一百年也没有，没人会给他们拍电影，拍出来也没人看。

观众要看这样的人的故事：

而不是下面这样的人。就算你是这样的人，也要混到一等舱，和一个有97%生还率的富家小姐勾搭上，才有表现高尚的机会。

在泰坦尼克号上什么最重要？投胎投得好最重要。

今天发现我的LinkedIn联系人达到了不多不少正好500人。

当然，联系人不是越多越好。一般来说，不管有几百或者几千个联系人，其中真正靠谱的“熟人”，不会超过150个——这个据说是由人的部落生活时代形成的认知能力和社会性决定的。
